| Objective |
To make each day a day of success for any student who enters into my classroom by providing a challenging, yet attainable, academic atmosphere while providing a fun and safe environment for children to learn, play, and grow in. |
| Accomplishments |
In many careers, accomplishments are usually an award here or a certificate there. In teaching, the greatest accomplishment is when a lightbulb suddenly turns on in the eyes of a child who has been striving for that -- that is what makes me feel like I have won the greatest trophy. I get these "trophy" experiences when I am able to see a child who could not read independently before get excited about silent reading time and jabber afterwards about the amazing story they are immersed in, or when I have a student patiently solving a long division problem after days and days of trying to get the many steps in the correct order. These are the moments that I cherish as a teacher, these are the times when I say, "Yes, I am doing my job well!" |

I am an avid reader (I have recently been accused of having an obsession with books -- something I am quite proud of!) and an enthusiastic writer, and travelling the world with my husband and my camera is my favorite thing to do. I love the Lord with all of my heart, and I know He loves me, too... look at the wonderful job He blessed me with! |
