7/8 Experiences Catalina Island
Mackenzie Powell (7th Grade)
This year, our class trip was to the Marine Center on Catalina Island. Catalina was an awesome experience for our class. We all got to conquer our fears, get to know each other better, and grow closer to God. Catalina was an amazing experience for me personally, not ju st because of all the great activities, like going snorkeling (twice), kayaking, swimming in the ocean, hiking, and bunking in a tent with Jenna, but also because I was able to be there with some of my closest friends. Like Mrs. Carpio always says, "...it doesn't matter where you are, it's who you're with that makes it a good time." Most importantly, I got to see and feel God's love and power through nature.
Our group leader Maestro helped us a lot throughout our trip. Maestro was always positive and encouraging. He pushed us to our limit and beyond. On our hike, when we felt like we couldn't go on anymore, Maestro would tell us "You can do it," and pushed us even further because he believed in us and knew we could do it.
