Objective It is a blessing to work collaboratively with a team of teachers, parents, and pastors to raise God’s children to be successful change agents in their communities. God is our ultimate leader and his children are our precious gifts. He has entrusted us to create schools where students will grow in their knowledge and understanding of His creation.

It is a pleasure to serve the school and community by providing equal educational opportunities for all of our unique students, emphasizing accountability and results, seeking to increase student achievement, setting high expectations for each and every student and teacher, and showing students who Jesus is daily. At the core of all decision making should be the well-being and educational academic success of each student.
Accomplishments Since I was in high school, I knew I enjoyed working with children. My mother was a single parent who struggled to keep my sister and me in the Adventist school we had attended since Kindergarten. Because of the financial strain, my family made the tough decision to send me to a public school my freshman year of high school. But exposure to drugs, gangs, and violence led my family to bring me back to San Gabriel Academy (SGA) and make the financial sacrifice to invest in my education. I soon began working with elementary students during afterschool daycare and tutoring programs and discovered my passion for education at a young age. One of my greatest accomplishments has been recognizing that my dedicated teachers at SGA were pivotal to my success as a student, teacher, and leader. I am an advocate for student academic achievement and a strong believer that every student can succeed.
Experience I have had the privilege of working together with families and communities to help students become academically successful. As an English teacher at La Sierra University, I’ve inspired over 150 college students to improve their writing skills and taught English Language classes to English Language Learners. But it was as the Teaching Principal of Peninsula Adventist School from 2006-2014 that I found my true passion for elementary education. Here, I taught all subjects (including music, guitar, and French) to grades 5-8. I also worked with educational teams to: raise awareness about Adventist education in Adventist and non-Adventist community churches, raise funds to support technology in the classroom and school renovation projects, and create successful afterschool programs for children.
Education M.A. in English from La Sierra University
M.A. in Administration and Leadership (currently seeking)
B.A. in Liberal Studies with an emphasis in Education
California State Teacher Credential
SDA Teaching Credential
Differentiated Instruction Training
Personal Life I have three sisters and one niece and I enjoy spending time with them and the rest of my family. I also enjoy singing, writing, playing the guitar, traveling, and golfing.  During the summer months and throughout the school year, I take continuing education classes at La Sierra University and other professional growth classes.

God has blessed me with a beautiful family that continues to support my commitment to help all students succeed and to promote Adventist education as a successful experience that leads to positive change in our communities.
